  • PEX821 - DESIGN OF EXPERIMENTS I: STATISTICAL PRINCIPLES (Júlio Sílvio de Sousa Bueno Filho - Este endereço de email está sendo protegido de spambots. Você precisa do JavaScript ativado para vê-lo.)

This discipline is an introduction to the subject that has had a tremendous impact in experimental science since 1925. We planned to present the experimental protocol that allows for the use of the linear models to produce and interpret experimental data. The main emphasis will be on motivations and how to analyse experimental data from well known designs. Course will be presented in 30 virtual meetings of at most 100 minutes (twice a week). Presence in at least one of the weekly meetings is important to keep up with the reading material, however, all relevant presentations should be recorded for further consultation. Theoretical part of the course is mainly based on Hinkelman and Kempthorne (1994). Additional reading material will include other books or papers on design and analysis of experiments and tutorials for R implementation. Lectures will be in English. Questions could be asked in English or Portuguese. and will be answered in both.

The classes will be taught by google meet.
